Adoption.com Distributes Teddy Bears to Children Awaiting Adoption

Gilbert, AZ (PRWEB) July 13, 2007 -- In June, Adoption Media, LLC, the owners of the Adoption.com website, distributed approximately 400 stuffed bears to adoption recruitment specialists with the Arizona Department of Economic Security's Division of Child, Youth and Family Services, for them to give to children awaiting adoption.

The Adoption.com website, in partnership with Build-a-Bear Workshop and the Joint Council on International Children's Services (JCICS) has teamed up to provide bears to children worldwide awaiting forever families. 50,000 bears were made with love during Build-A-Bear Workshop's Stuffed with Hugs: Hugs Sweet Hugs event last month. The Adoption.com website has obtained 1,100 of these bears for local and international distribution. "The bears were a hit. All of the bears found good homes," said Leah Wells, Statewide Recruitment Coordinator, regarding the visit to DES last week of employees from Adoption Media.

It is estimated there are more than 143 million orphaned children around the world with over 114,000 in the U.S. alone. "These children have been left without a family and a lot of uncertainty. A Teddy bear friend can provide comfort while waiting for a place to call home. We are pleased to be part of this special project," said Stephanie Lucas, Photolisting Program Manager for Adoption.com.

Nathan Gwilliam, Adoption Media CEO, stated: "We were very grateful that Thomas DiFilipo allowed us to be part of this project. Although adoption is an amazing act of sacrifice and love, most of the orphans in the world today will never have this blessing. In addition to considering adoption, we need to do better at taking care of all orphans around the world. These children are our children and our responsibility."

Adoption Media, LLC, is committed to helping as many children as possible find loving, permanent homes. They provide critical information at the decision-making moment to women facing crisis pregnancies, assist adoptees and birthparents in finding birthfamilies, and help hopeful adoptive parents make adoption dreams come true. They are especially committed to helping special needs children in the U.S. and around the world, who otherwise wouldn't be able to find families.
